Slovenia Hiking Tour
Explore the Alps and Triglav National Park on our 5-day Slovenia Hiking Tour
Starting in the capital city of Ljubljana, this 5-day Slovenia hiking tour will take you through some of the country’s most stunning landscapes. First, we’ll hike through Europe’s largest and oldest shepherd’s settlement at Velika Planina and learn about traditional ways of life in the Kamnik Alps. Next, we’ll spend two days in and around Logar Valley as we explore one of the most beautiful glacial valleys on the European continent. The second half of the trip features gems in the Julian Alps, including the hypnotizing Soca River and serene Lake Bohinj. Each of the 5 guided hikes offers stunning vistas with diverse scenery, allowing you to explore some of Slovenia’s most incredible places in less than a week. You’ll also have a chance to stop at Lake Bled before returning to Ljubljana at the end of the trip.

The hike is 7.5 miles long (12 km) with 2360ft (720 m) of elevation gain. It should take us around 5-6 hours to complete. After the hike, your guide will drive you two hours to the heart of Logar Valley, where we’ll spend the next two nights. Today, after breakfast, our journey continues with another hike in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. From there, we’ll continue ascending to the summit of Velika Raduha, standing at 6765 ft (2062 meters) above sea level. From the top, you’ll be able to enjoy the views of the highest peaks of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and mountains rising above the Savinja River. Julian Alps Hiking
As we bid farewell to the Logar Valley, today’s journey will take us to Triglav National Park. We have around 2.5-hour drive to Vrsic Pass – the highest mountain pass in Slovenia and the starting point of today’s hike. Our ascent features a moderate hike to Slemenova Spica, where stunning views of the Julian Alps’ towering peaks await. The round trip is only about 3 miles (5km) long, but the trail is fairly steep and rocky. The hike should take us about 3-4 hours.
After the hike, we’ll continue driving to the picturesque Trenta Valley, where the stunning Soca River awaits. We’ll spend the night in the valley and will have the chance to explore the charming town of Bovec. Those who are feeling especially brave can even take an afternoon swim in the Soca’s chilly waters.

Lake Bohinj/Vogel Hiking
Today is the last day of the tour, but one more hike awaits! After breakfast, a two-hour drive from Trenta Valley leads us to the tranquil shores of Lake Bohinj. From there, we will begin an easy 2h hike to Vogel, where we’ll enjoy a different view of Lake Bohinj from above. Another option is to use an electric cable car to reach Vogel’s peaks, or to experience the lake from a different perspective by walking around its shores. You’ll also have some free time to enjoy a swim or rent a kayak, SUP or bike. After exploring Lake Bohinj, you’ll have the chance to stop at Lake Bled before returning to Ljubljana.
